dented receiver on a 870

as the title says i have a 870 express that some where down the road it was dented by something (im guessing it was knocked over) and now it has a dent in the side of the receiver just below the front of the ejection port and it is causing a bind in the action bars, after about five shots if i dont oil it up again it wont eject the spent shell. is there any way to fix this that wont damage the strength of the action or any other parts?

here are the pics the dent is kinda hard to see but u can see where it is binding, im pointing at it in the first pic and its in the upper middle of the second two

It's not that bad and not in an area that would effect the strength. A decent gunsmith could easily strip the receiver, place it against something hard and flat and with the right tool, tap it back out till it operates smoothly again.
 
Looks like it has been placed too tightly in a vice. If it is affecting reliability I'd take it to a gunsmith, preferably a Remington certified gunsmith. Contact Remington. I wouldn't be surprised of the receiver does not need to be replaced. I don't see any way to hammer that back out and make it right.

Knocking over an 870 may blemish the finish but it won't dent the action. Your 870 suffered some significant trauma.
 
thanks guys and to zippy i have no idea of how it happened, then again im not the first owner, and i know the first owner only put bout 70 rounds thru it then left in in a closet for ten years in a case, my only guess is that they threw something heavy in on to it
 
870 receivers are fairly soft and a gunsmith should be able to fix that easily.
If it were mine I would use a 1/4-28 bolt, nut and press it back out from the inside.
