Dems attack Miller

On the Sunday blablabla shows, Zell Miller was hammered by Democratic flacks for his speech at the Repub Convention. James Carville, who was most recently seen playing Golum in the Lord of the Ring trilogy, said'
'it's a shame what they (the Repubs) MADE Senator Miller do, putting him onstage to make a fool of himself in the twilight of what had been a good career'.

Carville, who managed the good Senator's last campaign, should have known that you can't MAKE a Marine do anything he doesn't want to do in the first place. Miller spoke from the heart and told the truth. Kinda like Dick Cheney inviting Patrick Leahey to 'go f#@k himself'. Why do the Dems have such a hard time with the truth?

i was really moved by what Zell had to say.......

he has every right to speak at the convention and every right to be angry about what the majority of the dems are doing......

some say it was "angry" or "an outrage"......the man sounds like he had some good reasons for being a little ticked off......

he made good points, spoke very well, and hammered it home the old fashioned way....

Zell is cool in my book!

Anyone that does ANYTHING but laugh after hearing ANYTHING that James Carville has to say had better go back and listen again . They surely missed something .He has to be the silliest political person around EXCEPT for those that give credence to anything he has to say . You ask him anything and he says whatever he was sent there to say . Ask him about the weather and he goes on about Iraq being mishandled by Bush . Ask him the time and he will tell you about Halliburton . He has never really answered a question put to him . He just uses his "answer time" to deliver a diatribe .Which by the way will have no bearing on the question whatsoever .

Some Dems on Air America were speculating that Zell is demented, in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease. Typical of Communists - ascribe mental illness to your political opponents.

I think that it's humorous that a man in his 70s who has devoted his entire political career to the Democratik party is attacked by people who haven't been in the party nearly as long as he has. And they say that he isn't a true Democrat, he needs kicked out of the party.

Newsflash to the left: It ain't Zell that changed, baby...

Why do the Dems have such a hard time with the truth?

Could Clinton have something to do with that?

Kerry has a hard time with that because he know's that, if he ran on his record in the Senate, he wouldn't get very far.

So he's been running on his record in Vietnam. Most attractive message he has, right? Lotsa medals in short time. Problem is the questions regarding the truth there, too.

As usual, our Friday group that meets for food and adult beverages at the local pub, we started talking politics (a lot of the time we talk about good things like those that belch smoke, fire and projectiles followed by the odor of Hoppes) and our token liberal advised the group that poor ole Zell is losing his mind, he's senile, etc.

One of the group responded by saying "yes, that might be so, but what exactly did ole Zell say that wasn't true?" After a short pause, while she looked around helplesly, she said "shouldn't we order our food now?" :D

Har har har har har.

Gramps, you should point out Part III, Chapter 2 of George Orwell's 1984, where O'Brien, the party official, was interviewing Winston Smith prior to his torture:

----
O'Brien stood up with a satisfied air. Over to his left Winston saw the man in the white coat break an ampoule and draw back the plunger of a syringe. O'Brien turned to Winston with a smile. In almost the old manner he resettled his spectacles on his nose.

'Do you remember writing in your diary,' he said, 'that it did not matter whether I was a friend or an enemy, since I was at least a person who understood you and could be talked to? You were right. I enjoy talking to you. Your mind appeals to me. It resembles my own mind except that you happen to be insane.
-----

Communists and totalitarians are characterized by questioning their political opponents sanity.

Just be thankful that people like your token Democrat friend there aren't in power, weilding the lawful authority to commit Republicans to Democrat-run insane asylums like the Bolsheviks did with capitalists in Russia.

While I respect Zell for his courage, he is no big friend of us conservatives. He is a democrat, remember, and fondly remembers Clinton, Kennedy, LBJ, FDR, as how it used to be in the good old days.
