Had an interesting range experience yesterday with .357SIG reloads. I was testing out a new barrel for my BHP using 125 gn FMJ flatpoints over 13.4 gns of AA #9. They chrono'ed at an average of 1460 fps. I'm estimating 591.54 foot-pounds of delivered energy.
I was shooting at a 1/4 scale AR500 steel silhouette at 10 yards. When I went downrange to disassemble the target rig I was shocked to find that these little pills had dimpled the steel. Wow, does that round deliver some energy or what. They were built to approximate the Speer 125 gn GDHP as practice rounds. I usually shoot them out of a G32 with a shorter barrel.
