Defensive Handgun Training in DFW area

I am looking for a good school offering practical/defensive handgun training by qualified personnel in the DFW area. My primary criteria are:


1) The school instructors must be qualified and have practical experience regarding the subject at hand.

2) The school must teach classes over a weekend with preference given to abbreviated 2-3 day courses.

Does anyone have any recommendations or experience in this area?

Also, has anyone heard anything regarding the following organizations: Collin County Gun Range, SDSI, Texas Pistol Academy?

There is a place called DFW gun club near downtown Dallas. They offer classes although I haven't been to one in a while. The last time I went was about a year ago and the instructors were really good. They also have a wonderful 25 yard range and one of those nifty simulators that cost way too much to use. I don't have a link, but they are in the phone book on Mockingbird Lane. Good luck.

There is a place outside Stephenville just west of town that is run by a former British SBS friend of mine. He has 'special guest' instructors come in sometime also. He trains the counter terrorist units at DFW airport and does CT training for some foreign govts as well. This 'school' isn't for everyone and you won't see it written up in the latest gun magazine, but they do know their stuff. Email me and I will provide you with the information. You need to be a 'good guy' so any references and experience history would be appreciated.
