Defense Set Glocks

A friend of mine has a 3rd Gen Glock 23 and on the right side of the slide is stamped "Defense Set 1 of 2". He says this gun came in a set along with a subcompact Glock. Has anyone ever heard of this? Is it a limited edition type deal? He isn't sure....

yes the defense set was a limited run. basically all they were, were compact and sub-compact glocks with the markings you described on them. they came in 9mm (G19 and G26) and .40cal (G23 and G27). i'm not sure how many were made in the limited run of them.
