i just bought and and brought home a 1911 delta elite. Has any one used double tap or buffalo bore ammo. the sole purpose of the full strength ammo is for defense against 2 and possible 4 legged creatures.

I do not know the Delta 1911, but have several 1911s, and know that it is offered in 10mm so it must be tuff. What cal is yours and what if any diffrence do they have from say a Kimber 1911?

mine is a 10mm, i am new to the 1911 platform. i have always wanted a delta elite since the 80's now i have the new version. as far as the differences between it and kimber, i am not sure.

Buffalo bore will come closer to their velocity claims.while I haven't used DTs 10mm ammo the calibers I have used have fell short of claims.
for my 10MMs I use Georgia Arms they're not as hot as BB but they're 1/2 the price and are plenty hot they advertize 180 golddots @ 1150fps and the ones I chronoed an averaged of 1180 from my 4 1/4" Smith 1076. they also have a 155 GD @ 1350fps if you like speed:D

My personal choice for factory ammo is the 180gr HydraShock. Of course the cost is about $1 per shot.

The price is honestly the least of its drawbacks. In light of the technological progress that JHP rounds have made in the past 20 years, the HS bullet is inarguably outdated and you ought to think about trying out some of the newer bullet designs. :)
