Defeating the magazine disconnect on a Marlin 795

I took the gun apart and figured out what makes it tick. The magazine disconnect was something I overlooked when I bought it and would like to remove. I can see that I can glue a piece of rubber to hold itin place bu I am not sure of the durability of such a solution. Any better ideas? Does the magazine disconnect do anything else, besides disable the rifle?

Oleg, I haven't had one of these in the shop yet so I really can't advise you on it. Hopefully sombody else has done it and can comment. George
