Decisions to make

I stopped in a local outlet, "Jet's Outdoors" to see if they had some things I needed. I was not successful, BUT, they DID have some things that cought my eye.

Remington 870 Express Pump 12 GA 3 inch, with the 18 inch barrel, parkerized, synthetic furniture. bead sight. Price was $279. The also had a special on a Benneli HD pump 12 Ga, 3 inch, ghost ring sights, synthetic furniture for $359.

I was getting ready to send an older Remington 870 Wingmaster off to Scattergun for the Remington Steal rebuild, but I think I would be as well off getting this one locally..............or the Benneli. Decisions, decisions.

I am living almost the same dilema, but you would have to
add the Mossberg 590 to make it complete. I have looked
into the Benelli Nova Special Purpose, and it seems to be
quite the pump gun. Very light, incredible sights and a very
smooth action. Local dealer has had very good success
selling them and claims that no one has complained yet.
You can by some Benelli HD or tactical accessories for the
Nova, but they are a little more expensive than say Choate
or Tacstar stuff, and the amount of things you can buy is
limited. Also the stock is also part of the receiver, so you
won't be changing that to a pistol grip, etc., etc.

On the other hand an 870 is an 870.

But the Mossy 590 is pretty sweet too.

Why am I even answering? I can't decide either!

im in the SAME EXACT boat right now....

I also have all my Christmas shopping done, and at our Christmas party we get our bonus' which for me is about 400-500 bucks cash and i have ben tossing and turning and reading and reading about which one of them 3....

its killing me!!

A win-win situation, actually, all are decent shotguns. I prefer the 870 for reasons all too well known to regulars here, but any of those (or the other Big Fours) will serve us well.

One SMALL caveat, since the 870's so versatile with all the aftermarket stuff and extra bbls and so on, the most gun for the money may just be the 870, "1950's Technology" and all.

Dave;
what should i expect to pay for a 870 Express Synthetic...Remingtons site says 320$...alot of Dealers on Gunbroker.com have em for like $280... when i finally hit the store what should i expect from my local dealer (which happens to be "The Sports Authority"....

thanks

WEG is anything under $300 is a good deal, especially if there's choke tubes, or other accessories in the deal for no additional cost.

Often there's a bit of a sale on the few days after Xmas up to New Years. You may get a few bucks off then.

HTH....
