Dealer warehouse,38 super top end kits??

.38 S top end

Don't think you'll be able to use a .45 frame to build your .38 S if that's what u had in mind.

As far as I know the frames are the same. The only difference being if its cut for a ramped barrel or not.I used to have one that had a 9mm top end and a 45 top end that I used on the same frame .The only thing I had to do was switch out the ejector when I changed it over.

It can be done! My frame used to be for .45 ACP. Then I converted it to 9mm doing what RoyP said.

Conversions.....

Frames are the same.

Ejectors, mounted on the frame, are different.
Super 38 and 9x19 are the same, 45 Awfulmatic is different, and fits into the slide differently.

[bitter rant]Can't buy a frame only in PDSR California. @#$%^& liberals![/bitter rant]

Differences in ramps

If I understood Archie correctly, he is making the point I tried to make earlier. Lots of knowledgeable 1911 people have told me over the years that the feed ramp on a .45 frame is different from that on a .38 S or 9mm- IOW not just the ejectors are different.

Getting a 9mm to work on a .45 frame and vice versa is really a matter of luck. The .45 frames have a deeper, longer feed ramp on the frame whereas the 9mm is shorter & shallower. The Colt Delta Elites also have a slightly different feed ramp. A 9mm feed ramp frame can be cut & shaped to match .45 dimensions but the opposite is generally not true wihtout welding.
