I visited my favorite gun shop here in Pa today and there in the case was a used/new Sig 226 with two factory high capacity mags for $599! The gunshop owner explained to me that it was bought from the estate of a gentleman that had passed away last summer along with $250,000 worth of other guns. It must be nice to have money! This particular Sig was made in W. Germany and upon inspection, I realized that it was absolutely never fired. It was like a brand new gun! It came with the original box, owners manual, target and an extra mag in an oily plastic bag. So, seeing this as a once in a lifetime find, I walked out of the store with a used but brand new Sig! Did I get a deal on a great gun or what?!?!

Is there anything special about the 226? I mean is it harder to find than other Sigs?
I am not too familiar with Sigs 9mm handguns. About 18 mos ago I bought a NIB unfired but pre-owned 225 for $500, but hated it and dumped it. I bought a LNIB 220 about 2 yrs ago for $500 also, and liked it a lot.
$599 doesnt sound too bad. What do they usually sell for?

Congrat's on your rare find, and reasonable price. I paid

and one pre-ban high capacity magazine.
Lonegunman: Having been a Sig collector for many year's,
the P226 had always eluded me early on. Seems like the
supply simply dried up for awhile. Then in November of 96,
I found the aforementioned P226; and it was the only one
in the house.
I suppose that SigArms was real busy
supplying arm's for government contract's.

Lone-g-----------The big deal is those high-cap magazines that came with it.
He basically got a NIB Sig for a good price----those high caps make it a GREAT deal.
