Davis P-380

A friend asked me to help him clean his .380 auto. I can't get the slide off to clean it. I have never seen one of these guns before. It is a Davis Industries P-380. It looks to be made out of poor quality material and I am unsure about this gun. Any one have one? How do you get it apart?

First thing you do is remove the magazine, then retract the slide and check the chamber to make sure it's unloaded (you're going to have to dry fire it).

Then drop the striker by dry firing.

Look at the user end of the slide where the back end of the firing pin protrudes and you'll notice now that the little round part that once surrounded the back of the firing pin can now be depressed.

Press in (it's spring loaded) on that part and you should be able to lift the rear of the slide off of the frame. Then all you have to do is move the slide forward (careful of the recoil spring tension) and take it off of the barrel end.

After cleaning, assemble in reverse order. :)
