Davis P-32 .32 semiauto pistol question

A friend of mine has one, and can't figure out how to field-strip it for cleaning. She's lost the owner's manual. Any information on how to do that, or copies of the manual available (seeing as how the company's gone out of business)?

It's a simple procedure. Take the magazine out, and work the slide several times. MAKE SURE THE PISTOL IS EMPTY. Repeat, MAKE SURE THE PISTOL IS EMPTY. Point the pistol in a safe direction and squeeze the trigger. On the back of the slide, there is a key-hole-shaped plastic piece with a hole in the middle. While pressing in on that piece, you need to pull back slightly and up on the slide, and this will let you lift the back of the sldie off the frame rails. BE CAREFUL; the plasic piece is under spring tension from the firing-pin, and can get thrown towards your eyes if you lose control of it. Once the back of the slide is up, you can ease the slide forward off the front of the barrel. That's about as far as you should ever NEED to take one of these down, and reassembly is in the reverse order.

It's also best to remove the grips first. Gives you more room to press the button. Go to the Kel-Tec site and down load a owners manual.:)

One more thing

Remember the direction that the sear faces and which way the striker goes into the slide. The sear is a little T shaped piece in the rear of the slide with a triangle on the top. It is possible to put that in backwards and tie up the gun. Make sure you get it back in the right direction. The striker can go in backwards, too, keeping the gun from functioning.
