Just picked up this Davis DM-22 Cal Mag Derringer today (cheap and more of a novelty) and it light strikes like crazy! Pulled the trigger about 10 times or so and only 3 rounds fired! I know nothing about these small guns so any help will be appreciated.

I happen to have one of these, and it came with a 37 lb. trigger pull!
If yours doesn't have, some one like myself probably clipped some coils off of the main spring. After said "trigger job",it would very seldom fire until a new spring was installed.Check with numrich for parts,as the company is no longer in business.
Good luck.

I think Davis became Cobra. I checked Cobra's website, and they say their derringers are produced from Davis' designs - probably did a paper corporation switch to avoid that run of lawsuits against gun manufacturers. I bet you could get a new mainspring there if Numrich doesn't pan out.

One more thing you may want to check first. People like to play with these small derringers. I'm sure you've seen it. They cock it, aim it a imaginary bad guy and pull the trigger, over, and over. These derringers are made fro m soft steel., dry firing will quickly preen a crater on the barrel rim. Someone not knowing what they are are doing will repair the barrels by removing the preened out metal. However, a 22 rimfire needs the support of the barrel rim to fire. if there is too much metal missing under the rim, the firing pin will just bounce and not fire the shell, because there is no rim support. Remember, they are rimfire. And Yes, in refernce to Davis and Cobra, just a name change, same guns. I have a couple and as stated, a trigger pull from hell, but hey, you sure don't have to worry about them going off by accident.:)

Thanks all for the replies, I traded in the pistol today for a Enfield Jungle Carbine ..

Betcha had to give a bunch of boot.....with one of those you almost didn't have a gun to take to a gunfight!

That Davis model, a Hi Point .380 (practically useless) and $110 for the Enfield Jungle Carbine, I think it was a good trade..:)
