Daughter in law CC

My son and I convinced his wife she should carry while working as a Realtor...she's showing mostly country homes in northern KY and many of them are out of the way so to speak. Well, last week she entered a house (that was listed as empty) and found some matresses, empty food cartons and drug paraphernalia laying about on the first floor. She got her clients out of the house and called the owners and the police. The LEO's said it was probably itinerant druggies flopping there between fixes.

She keeps a S&W 637 about her person when working, but did so only because her husband and I insisted....now she's glad she had it...no confrontation, actually didn't see anyone but that scary feeling was there...She's a believer now.

Her hubby, (my son) is just finishing 21 months in Afghanistan; gone 90 days at a time and they live on a farm road well out of town... that was the primary reason for her to get her CCW...she says she's never had the feeling she needed it around the house, even at night, but you never know...and she's prepared...they also have two big protective dogs at home.

Best Regards, Rod

In a way she's lucky that she ran into the temporary flop house. Otherwise she wouldn't be convinced of the need to carry. I bought my wife a good revolver to carry, easilly concealable, but she doesn't carry. In fact she will shoot it only once a year. Hard nut to crack, there.

She likes that I carry and makes sure I do. Almost every time we go somewhere she will ask if I am armed. "Do you have your gun with you?" is the usual question as we go out the door.

I hope that when she learns her lesson, it will be as good and harmless as the one you related.

I am glad your daughter-in-law is ok, much rather be safe than sorry.

I remember coming home one night starting down my own gun, my wife was sitting there on the couch, I saw the weapon pointing at me, took me a good 2 seconds, and then said is ever thing all right. She indicated just making sure it was me. There had been some shaking at the front door , like someone had been trying to jiggle/shake the door open. So my wife was sitting there with my 45 waiting to give someone that did not belong the business end of my gun. Thankfully no issue, no one was hurt, and the dogs had settled down by the time I got home.

Sometimes a close call is good as an eye opener. My mom came home to intruders one christmas eve. They were armed with her nightstand gun. Her nightstand gin is now her purse gun.
