Dating a Colt Python

I have a Colt Python I was told was manufactured in the 80'2 that is in 100% unfired mint condition with a 6" barrel Royal Blue. I was wondering if anyone could help with the true date of manufacture. Serial # is E241XX.

I think I got you on another forum, but just in case:
It was made in 1971.

The year started at E21201 and ended at E38000

They're both excellent guns... it's reeeeeaaaaaally hard for me to imagine anything better than the 1st-gen S&W wheelguns though. In all seriousness.
 
Thanks for all the help (and all the ribbing). Looks like I got a great deal. $500.00 for a mint 1971 Python. Sorry just had to rub that in a little. I hope me and Betty can have a long life together.
 
Some of us add one or two imaginary weapons if we don't have a bona fide arsenal to begin with, or even more popular is the "COMING SOON" solution. :D
 
Well here's a couple of Snakes. The Stainless is a Ultimate Python $500 and the Royal Blue $550 is just a Python. Sometimes deals come by that you just can't pass up.
