Date of Maunfacture for 870

I just purchased an 870 Express Magnum, serial number A 51**** M. Can someone give me a year of manufacture, or point me to a reference? I already tried Remington's website, and it is worthless.

My book says the 870 Express Super Magnum with the 3.5 chamber is manu. from 98 to date. Oldguns.net has a good ref. for Remington firearms made from 1921 to 1972, but that does'nt help us here.
