Date of Manufacture for my Star BM.

Thanks to the great Replies I got on my newly acquired Star BM Pistol, I found the Date of MFG. Code under the Left Grip. It is 3 Symbols stacked over each other. The top appears to be a Ronsen Lighter without a Flip Cap on the Top, and has a large X on the Front, the middle code is the Round Ball with Flame on the top, like the ordnance branch of Service for the U.S. Army, and the letter P is in the Middle. the Bottom symbol is a U with a Period in the Middle, and a 1 at the end. U.1 but the Period is at the top. If someone can tell me the Year please do. Thanks. Paul in Hobe Sound, Fla.

Why not just get the year off the trigger guard like I mentioned in the last thread you made?

If you do want to do it this way, this was the first result on a Google search for "star pistol date code". Looks like you should be able to date it http://star-firearms.com/firearms/proof.shtml. My guess is 76 if I'm reading what you wrote properly.

Sorry you were right, I was thinking under the Grip, Yes! I found it on the right front of the Trigger Guard. Yes it is 1976! Wow, 41 Years old and still looking in good shape. Thanks for your Help and everyone else. Paul in Hobe Sound.

One from the 4th Year of MFG. and in Great Condition. Will fire it soon. Thanks again for your help, funny when I looked on the Trigger Guard there it was a big 76. I was 20, and had gone into the Army in 75, at that time, I was at Ft. Carson, Colo. I also once also bought a Walther P.1 (P.38) Pistol made in 1976. Till next time. Paul in Hobe Sound, Fla.
