Data for the Hornady .357 140 gr. FTX

I have a 357 rifle, 77/357 and I was wondering if there is any data besides what is listed in Hornady # 9. They only list 4 powders. In my rifle, I would like to test 2400, H-110 and 300 MP. Please let me know if there is anything else , thanks.
 
You can start with 12.5 grains of 2400 or 15.2 grains H110 based upon the Lyman's Manual 47th Edition for a 140 grain jacketed bullet. Use the Hornady COL.

Thanks for the info. I'll check it out.

I have another question: Is it necessary to really trim the brass to 1.240 as Hornady suggests? I have read other Handloaders posts about that stating that 1.280 or even 1.275 would allow them to crimp the bullet in the canalure at the 1.590 COAL. What do you think? Thanks.

Lyman 50th has 7 powders tested. Unique, AA7, True Blue, Blue Dot, 2400, H110, and IMR 4227.
With H110 and the 140 FTX start 13.8--1226 fps and Maximum 15.0--1312 fps
With 2400 and the 140 FTX start 11.5--1121 fps and Maximum 12.6--1240 fps
Test cases-Federal-----primers-CCI 550-----oal 1.590"
Lyman says to trim cases with the 140 FTX to 1.240" as does Hornady and says do not use these shortened cases for standard loads. Very important. Not much spread here from start to maximum so work up carefully. Lyman 50th lists the same data for rifle and pistol.

Thanks for the info. I'll need to get Lyman's 50th.
I was looking at Hodgdon, and they list trim to as 1.285, and COAL at 1.600 (for the TC Contender 10").
Have you or anybody you know tried using the 140 FTX that way?

The above velocities were from a 4' universal receiver. Rifle velocity in Lyman's 50th were:
13.8 gr H110--1518 fps-----max 15.0 gr---1645 fps
11.5 gr 2400--1430 fps-----max 12.6 gr---1597 fps
Tested in a Winchester 94AE---1-16 twist 20" barrel. Same Fed brass and CCI 550 primers used in pistol and rifle tests.
I haven't loaded any of the Hornady FTX bullets in any caliber.
