Wayne Schlickenmeyer and I were out for coffee. Coming back, we were turing to an off-ramp still going 55. As we reach the bottom of the ramp, a Chevelle passes us on the left doing about 90mps. The passenger on the right flips us off for being slow.

I start slowing down more than I normally would so that the idiots would go through the light at the top of the ramp before we get there. They arrive just as the light turns green...but they are still doing 90mph and the cars in front are just getting into gear.

CRASH! The Chevelle tried to turn at the last moment and hit two cars and a van all at once, at 45* angle to the road. The driver of the Chevelle was displaced by the dashboard right into the rear seat, DRT and in rather a flat condition. Other people involved got away with moderate to slight injuries.

Lots of people with video cameras, newsies, cops, EMTs. Wayne helped out, met some EMT he knew. One of the guys from the Chevelle kept coming back to the car and hitting it with his fist. We moved away as something was leaking and folks were smoking right by that leak.

Anyway, Darwin took his own in tonight. glad I stayed back from those morons.

stupid people die in stupid ways.
yup, culling the herd.
Glad you weren't part of it. Your tactical mind-set was right on track.

That would be worth leaving your info for the insurance companies to get a statement of what happened from an uninvolved party. Bye bye discount insurance rates!

Since we were able to see the event clearly, we did stick around to make a statement. I feel bad for the occupants of the three vehicles hit by those morons.

Ever trained braking in light tracked vehicles. At least M113s have a
quite nasty way to brake from full speed to a halt. When our sister
company trained full brakes on a lone road, we explicitely alerted all
house owners and inhabitants that we were doing the 'devious' thing.
Put handouts under every windscreen the evening before, and in every
letterbox.

Presto, half an hour into the excercise, a dummy drove out, went up
close to an M113. The M113 is braking, and now everybody knows what a
'crunchy' frog is. The Swiss Army can be very unforgiving. :)

Good headwork Oleg.

Mussi, did they bury the frog with a bar of soap?

Sam....like an old apple, rotten to the core.
