DAO (concealed hammer) snubbie question.

Do the DAO (concealed hammer) snubbies such as the Taurus 650 and S&W 340PD have a different trigger pull as compared to their DA/SA versions of these same guns?

I'd like to get a DAO (concealed hammer) snubbie, but I can not hit anything when shooting my current snubbies in DA mode. So why would I buy a DAO snubbie...

Thanks

Yes the DA pull is comparable to a similar SA/DA model.

Why you can't hit with DA is it is a learned behavior, it takes conscious practice. After you obtain the technique you may never or hardly ever cock your SA/DA capable revolvers again. DA is about as accurate as SA except for hairsplitting bullseye performance, certainly equal to any task a handgun can be reasonably called upon to undertake. YMMV

Trigger weight and LOp is the same but it's worth noteing that allot of folks have complained that the airweight/lightweight snubbies from S&W suffer from rougher (out of the box) triggerpulls as compared to their steel counterparts. If in doubt, look at a, a shrouded hammer (S&W 638/38/49 /649) that allows both SA and DA but with less snagg potential. FWIW, I reciently purchased a 640 (concealed hammer) that had factory trigger work . It has the smoothest / SWEETEST trigger pull of all my snubbies. I personally still preffer the 49/649 or a bobbed hammer 36/60 ( in that order) but the 640 is growing on me :D

The hammer and trigger mechanisms are the same, just enclosed in the DAO models.

After breaking in a revolver with a few hundred trigger pulls, you can determine if you want to do further trigger work with lighter springs, stoning/polishing the parts and better lubrication. There is a world of difference in accuracy when you get your trigger working right. CB3
