Anyone own/have owned a DD Omege rail or an Omega x rail? Whats the difference between the 2?? Im finding the x rail more available than the other

The Omega rail is a drop-in replacement for a standard AR handguard.

The Omega X requires replacement of the standard AR barrel nut with an Omega X specific barrel nut.

Both versions are free floated rails, in that they only contact the gun at the barrel nut, and nowhere else.

I've never mounted the x rail model, but I do use the Omega 7.0. I've been completely satisfied with it. It was quite easy to install too.

Yup.
The install of the regular Omega rail is ridiculously easy- slip them into place, screw both halves together, than tighten the allen screws to hold the handguard in place (and to adjust the alignment). It takes all of maybe ten minutes.

They are extremely high quality; they don't weigh a ton and the ovoid profile is really nice to grip (the cheaper systems tend to weight more and be more circular, which doesn't feel as nice in your hands). They aren't cheap, but they're worth it.

I just took a rifle length Omega Rail and chopped out a segment of the upper rail to fit around the FSB on my 14.5" AR... looks good, feels good.
