Dang it, I Picked up an Ruger LCR .22lr today. Couldn't help myself

Was in Sportsman's Warehouse today and they had a Ruger LCR in .22lr. I knew better than to hold it. Once I did it was no turning back. I have a thing for small guns (they fascinate me) and I have had an itch for a small .22lr revolver. The LCR just felt too good in my hand. The trigger is very nice. Seems like this will be one of the ultimate plinking fun guns.

Yeah I know I didn't "need" it. Heck I don't even have a LCR in 357 or 38, this just seemed liked the best value in a small light weight .22lr revolver. I am already trying to rationalize a LCR in 357 purchase. I am hopeless.

Anyway, I will post a range report as soon as I get it out. Anyone else have one? Interested to see how other owners feel about theirs.

What are they selling it for?

I haven't seen many around here as of yet. There was one at the gun show two months ago that went for abotu $389.

So you bought that one at the Chattanooga Sportsman Warehouse. I already bought one at another local shop, or it would have been gone when you got there. :)

Those little 22 revolvers facinate me also when they are well made. I think you'll like it.

The other shops price them higher because they pretty much are sold within a few days that they put them on the shelf. That will end and the price will settle down to around your price.

I actually bought it st the one in Southaven Mississippi (Memphis suburb) I consider myself anmemphis boy but i do live in Mississippi. My family and my wife's family lives in central Mississippi so it made mire sense to live on the south side of town

I was at a gun show last month they were selling for $460ish and the new 22 kit gun was around the same. The only thing holding me back on buying it is its not DA, only DAO :(

The lowest prices I have heard of are around $390. I say "heard", but the prices I have seen have been between $425 and $470. I paid $450 OTD for mine.

TennJed - don't be too hard on yourself . . . after all, it's a Ruger and for me, they just seem to "call out". I haven't had a chance to see and handle the 22 model yet but I do have it's big brother, the LCR 357. I love it. Pretty soon your 22 version will be "calling out" for a "big brother" . . . and you won't be able to resist. Don't fight the urge . . . just enjoy it! :D

Let us know how your like your new purchase after you've had a chance to shoot it . . . I have a feeling you're gonna love it!

I got mine for $400. I also have the LCR 357 you were needing as a companion piece.

I had a Lobo Enhanced Pancake made to fit them both.

I have some Tuff Products Model 1022 Quick Strips to practice reloading. I load the 10 round Quick Strips with 7 rounds in pairs, skipping a round between pairs for cylinder clearance. OOXOOXOOXO I can reload the LCR 22 faster than the LCR 357 using Quick Strips. NOTE: Get them in Orange so you can find them on the ground after a Tactical Reload.

I have been shooting the LCR 22 in BUG Division in our Sportsman's Club Bi-Monthly Defensive Pistol Match, and doing well with it.

My brother bought one a while back, and he gave $400 for his also. He went with a Lobo Model 1 Pancake Snap Loop holster for his.

Enjoy it, it's a great little 22 revolver.

Bob
