I have an oportunity to buy a 32-20 stainless steel Dan Wesson revolver with a 6" barrel for 350.00. Is this a good deal or not?
The gun is in great shape.

Fair price, but not a great price. Then again handgun prices vary greatly by market.
As a gauge, DW .357's, Model 715 used generally run $225 to $275. DW Model 744's (44 Mag) run from $275 to $350. Again, that's what I see in the shops in the Northeast.
A DW in 32-20 is a new production gun from New York. They seem to be producing a pretty decent product, and their customer service is very good.
If you like it buy it, shoot it, and enjoy it.

Selling a DW

Swamp Yankee,

I have a newer (assembled in 2000) unfired, DW .357SuperMag with a 6" barrel. I paid $750 for it; I think now they're going for around $900+. Apparently and to my surprise, the DW doesn't hold it's value. Considering the current market, what do you feel would be a very good selling price for the SM?

By the way, I do like the DW's, particularly the heft, fit & finish. I own and use three others.

Thanks for any advice.

That's a tough one. If you can find someone looking for a .357 Supermag you may do ok. AFAIK no company is making .357 Max ammo anymore, chances are it's going to be a hard sell. The .357 Supermag without .357 Max ammo is just a jumbo .357 Mag. I recently bought 500 rounds of .357 Max brass just to cover myself.
As a benchmark, about a year ago I found a lnib original Monson, Mass. 8" .357 Supermag with the original 2 barrels, (same length, DW originally sold the gun with 2 barrels as a response to the forcing cone erosion problem created by the .357 Max.) 2 sets of grips, all paperwork, and a Burris 2X scope mounted on it. Total price $300 out the door. Did I get a steal, maybe, but long range silhouette guns really are not in huge demand.
To answer your question, I honestly do not know what the Supermag would sell for in your market or on the Internet. My advice would be to ask about $550 and see if there is any interest. Adjust price accordingly.
Good Luck
