....the CZ - USA website is saying by late summer they will be in regular production with a Dan Wesson 715 ( .357 magnum revolver) ! I want one !

Cost does not seem that far out of line. A Smith from the custom shop will run you that much. Sign me up for one. You can never have to many 357 revolvers.

My brother has one

Very nice example of a well built and accurate revolver. I hate that damned cylinder latch!!!!

RUT you did not read it all you can get the pistol pack for 1.168.00 that comes with 3 EXTRA barrels caring case and tools to change the barrel's 2 4 6 8 That is a good price for a gun that has a 4 gun in one!

I'm not reading it that way. It says it ships with a 6" bbl, and the case has ROOM for 3 other barrels. If it did come with all that it would indeed be a good price. You can buy an original 715 for far less than this. Fortunately I have one, complete with 4 & 6" barrels. :)

I saw this a couple days ago when people were talking about their 1911s in the semi auto forum. I'd definitely be interested in a 6in 357 from them.

It's one thing to be interested and another to actually fork over $1100.00 for one. ;)

And Semper Fi to you too!

And I certainly hope CZ has addressed the issue of the very soft steel under the case hardening like the originals back in the 80s.

True enough, RUT. I'm also not going to be one of the first to buy it. I'll wait til people give some reviews on it before deciding.

We had a new 715 in the case the last time they put them out. It does not come with extra barrels. I am a fan of DW products especially the 15-2 but the new one had the absolute worst single & double action trigger I have ever felt on a DW revolver.

The fit and finish were ok but not what I would expect from past experience. I hope this second run is an improvement over the first.

I would love one! I have shot several DW's over the years and really love the design and the accuracy. Some of the best were the original Monson guns and the ones made in New York before CZ bought the company.

Would REALLY love to see the big .357, .414 and .445 SuperMags return. Had a chance to buy an 8" stainless .445 for ~$700 some years back, but didn't have the funds and get mad every time I think about it!

And it would seem the price of original DW revolvers is escalating rapidly. Glad I already have one!

I have a 15-2 with 6" and 2.5" vented heavy barrels, in like new condition. It was made in Monson in the late 70's I believe. What does a rig like that sell for now?

That's MSRP.

I'd be willing to bet that the street price is closer to $900.

Isn't that about (maybe just a bit more than) what the 686 SSR sells for?

First I've heard of this! I've owned a dozen Model 15-2's and never seen anything like this, even on a friend's later guns that had other issues. My problems consisted of a broken hand spring, and a broken trigger spring on a gun I bought that was well used, to put it mildly.

It seems the older Dan Wesson revolvers were popular among steel silhouette shooters and handgun hunters. I notice that they are currently showing a 6" version only...but it comes with a case that holds extra barrels and the barrel changing wrench , as well ! I can only hope they plan on offering different length barrels and possibly different caliber choices in the future !
