Dan Wesson Scope mount by Rembrandt

I am new poster here. I have a dan wesson 744 that i love but i want to mount a scope. I dont wish to mount the scope to the top strap so my choices are a little more limited. (i prefer not to drill and tap into the top strap). I am wondering if the weigand mount requires a drill/tap in the top strap? Also i saw that Rembrandt had a mount on his Dan Wesson where he milled the vent rib and placed the bases into the milled portion. It looked great. Rembrandt- if you read this could you please give me some details of the bases you used? I cant seem to find them on Warnes web site.

Doesn't CZ/Dan Wesson have a scope rail that ties into the screw holes for the rear site?

Maybe not, it could be for drilled and tapped shroud.

If drilling and tapping the original shroud is a problem, you could get another shroud and leave the original.

Thanks for the information. I would be purchasing a new shroud from Dan Wesson to keep the original shourd intact. Unfortunately the B-Square mount is no longer available. That would have been perfect. Dan Wesson does have a weaver style base they can mount to the new shroud but i really liked the option that the member Rembrandt used. I wish i could contact him but he does not accept private messages from this board. I will attach a pic of what he did.
