Greyhound Dog

New member
I have a Dan Wesson .22 cal. 6in. 6 Shot cyl.
Purchased in the late seventies early eighties
Question ?? is it considered a small , med. or large frame

I need to know so I can order new rubber grips
??? Any suggestions Hogue doesn't seem to carry anything for the .22's
I would like a round butt with finger grooves

Most people have very little knowledge about DW's
Including me!

Thank you for any input

Believe it or not Dan Wesson .22s are built on the same frame as the .357 Mag known as the "Small Frame". If you want to compare it, the DW small frame is about the same as a S&W "L" frame. The medium frame is larger than a S&W "N" frame and is used for the .44 Mag. The large frame is a true monster and is used for the .357 Maximum .44 Supermag etc.
If you go to http://www.danwesson.com you will find they carry the type of stocks your looking for. If you call them they can help with any questions you have whether you puchase from them or not.
I put a set of the old DW Combat Grips on my Model 715 (round butt with finger grips just as you describe)back in the early '80's and refuse to try anything else on that gun.
Hope this helps.
Take Care
