Dan Wesson ECO?

Anyone have experience with Dan Wesson ECO? I am considering one of these and would like the hear from anyone who owns one. They are touted to be more reliable than a 3" barrel, thus 3.5" barrel. Officer's frame on a Commander slide. The recoil system is stated to last 15,000 rds. And it's a Wesson which, I understand has a pretty good reputation. Thanks....

I've had 2 in .45 and 1 in 9mm. Excellet guns with no problems in either .45. The 9mm had a few ftrb but worked it out after 100 rounds or so and 100% reliable.

The only thing I didn't like were the grips. 1 corner was sharp in the hand but a little 1500 paper took care of the problem.

Have the ECO in 9mm. It is a nice little gun. I personally like the grips a lot. Only thing I'm not crazy about is the one piece guide rod and that's not a huge negative. My ECO is very tight and needs to have the slide well oiled to feed properly. Once I figured that out it has been flawless.

I also have a DW Guardian in both 9mm and .45ACP and like the Guardian a bit more than the ECO. I consider DW to be top of the line in non custom 1911s, and they're all good in my mind.

I don't think you will find a better compact 1911 for the money or even if you spend more for another brand. Tight, accurate, reliable. I like how the Crimson Trace grips fit and look. Only change I have made is a fiber optic front sight.

Doooo it.

I have the next size up, the CCO. It is very nice in fit, finish and function. I have since ordered a Valor to replace my full size from another manufacturer (sounds like bOLT :p).
