Dan Wesson CTG Questions

I'm just gettin into handgun hunting for deer and am looking at a used Dan Wesson CTG .44 mag with a 10" barrel. The gun is in great shape. I was able to shoot it and I like the way it felt and the accuracy. I don't know a lot about handguns for hunting. Is this a good gun for me to start with? The price is $400. Is that a fair price? Any advice would be appreciated.

A Dan Wesson large frame revolver + a 10" barrel would be a great choice for deer. Perfect for mounting a nice 2X scope.

The gun is very heavy. Could be difficult to shoot offhand. Would be great from a tree stand. You'll want to get in lots of practice before the season opens.

$400 is a pretty good, not great, deal. Kinda depends on condition and whether it comes with any "extras".

Good Luck...

Joe

Look to see if it was made in Monson, Palmer, or Norwich. If it was made in Palmer then check it carefully. They are the ones to potentially cause the most headaches.
