morning all,got a dan wesson 357 trying to find out model number on, serial number is 372164. any help with this would be great.thanks

You will get better answers if you post a pic & or a little more info if possible. If it's an older one I'll guess Model 15.

What "MC1911" said: If it has adjustable sights and is chambered for .357 mag, then it is a model 15-2. The serial number would probably put it in the early 80's, maybe 1982 or 1983 for a manufacturing date. That vintage should also be a Monson, Massachusetts gun, which had the better production quality.

Thanks Hammie! I was very lazy in my response with such little info! I should have given the info you provided!

@Marcuz: Oh, and I forgot. If the tool didn't come with the revolver, and you wish to remove the barrel, then you will need a special spanner wrench for the barrel nut. To re-install the barrel you will also need a 0.006 inch feeler gauge to set the barrel to cylinder gap.
