Folks often suggest EKW Arms as a great after-market supplier for Dan Wesson goodies. My experience has been that I don't check all too often, but I have checked dozens of different times over the last two years and I never, ever, ever, ever,
ever see six inch or eight inch barrels or longer EVER show up.
I don't know if it was something they offered at one time, never to return?
Or if they make so few that they sell in a day and I just get the impression that they never have them? I'll bet a contact e-mail to EKW would answer that.
Occasionally, 8-inch and longer Dan Wesson barrels show up on Gunbroker, but they get jacked up and sold for high dollars every time.
Apparently, the new CZ-Dan Wesson revolvers are
finally actually being delivered, so perhaps an e-mail to CZ-USA might also better answer your question.
Not to discourage anyone and
definitely not to insult the Dan Wesson revolver fans on here, but I have owned two of them and I either got two average ones... or the Dan Wesson guns just don't measure up to Smith & Wesson revolvers for me. After two of them (both Monson... and I kept one) I would be far more likely to spend more on a new CZ-USA Dan Wesson then I would to buy yet another older one simply to be disappointed.
My opinion is based on what I see coming out of CZ-USA-- these folks make quality and their attention to detail is obvious. They took the Dan Wesson 1911 line and did the unpossible: they took a small company with a good product, bought it with HUGE money and made it part of a huge conglomerate, and
radically improved the product. It's the exact opposite of what happens with most loved brand names scattered across history.
So if CZ-USA/Dan Wesson is selling new production Dan Wesson revolvers, my betting money says these are better than the two Monson guns I have owned, and
noticeably so.
