I was looking at some Dan Wessons today. There were a pair of 357s in the store today. One was a stainless with a fixed barrel, the other was a blue with the removable barrel, but no tools. The stainless was $325 and the blue one was $225. I almost picked up the blue one. It checked out mechanically very good.

What would a set of barrel tools cost and how are these prices? I've been looking for a DW for a while now.

Price for the blue Model 15 at $225 is fair. Try offering $200.

Make sure it's a Monson, Mass manufactured Model !5 and not a Model 12. Model 12s can be hard to find parts for. A Model 15 uses the same parts as current mfg. I shy away from the Palmer, Mass. guns. Most are good, but they did let some real klinkers out towards the end.
As to the stainless, is it a fixed barrel Palmer gun or a Little Dan? Little Dans are hard to find, they really aren't worth anything as a collectable but they are rare. If the stainless is a Little Dan and you don't want it let me know, I smell a road trip.
The barrel/sight wrench can be ordered directly from Dan Wesson in New York. I bought one a while back after I lost the one for my Model 22. IIRC it was about $25.
By all means grab that Dan. They are shooters.
Take Care
