All the raves here on TFL about how good the HK P7Ms are has made me "have" to have one! :) and :( Just when I thought my guns-to-buy list had been narrowed down to the essential next 25....Arrrrgghhhh.

I would have had a hard time considering the P7M8 before the hicap ban, but now I would rather geta used Squeezer than a 9mm P226.

Go ahead, yield to the desire...get the P7!!! This is a great pistol. I own a refurb and this is now my FAVORITE pistol. What a great design, what a great shooter, what a good carry pistol (it's THIN). Get the P7---you won't regret it!!!!! :) :) :)

:D :D

Futo, same thing happened to me a little over a year ago. The P7 gang at TFL convinced me to buy a new one and I did- never had actually seen or even held one. Am I glad I did!

ps- about a month or 2 after I bought the 1st P7 my gunstore calls me, hey, you want a refurb for $600?

I own 2 now :)

ps2- beware/extreme caution when reading weapon threads at TFL, they'll suck you in... I am now the owner of a Walther P5 due to recent postings :D and am looking forat least 1 more!!

Hi Futo Inu:

I know the problem. Before I could stop myself, I had four M8's in the safe. I don't regret buying them for a second. Great gun!

Best,

Jeff

Gotta jump on the bandwagon here. My refurb P7M8 is coming up on a year. I am madly in love. For carry and/or range use, it is simply fantastic. IDPA shoots are a blast with the P7. I've begun scheduling myself to ensure that my Glocks and BHPs get shot. My Kahr has been getting carried as much as the P7 due to its size but my Glock holsters are slipping further and further into the pile. I also gave in and picked up a NIB PSP the other day (I'll post a range report next week). Trying to suppress the urge for a NIB M8 to go with it.

These pistols are a great investment in your shooting enjoyment (I won't talk about them as traditional investments since you're never actually gonna sell one). I really think you will not be disappointed.

Good luck!

Must be nice...must be. I dunno where you guys live, but I'm stuck here in Cali, and I just started shooting about one month ago. Bought a Glock 27, found myself at the range every 2-3 days, ammo got pricy so I laid down the change for a S&W 22A. I'm still waiting to actually take possession on that one, thanks to California's 30 DAY wait between handgun purchases. 30 DAYS!!! S***, my list of "gotta have" guns is short (Styer M40, KelTec P32, Mossberg 500, Davis Derringer in .380) but it will take 4 more months to finish! GRRRRRR....I gotta move....

You just ahve to decide what P7 you want.

The orginal with a heel release.
The American M8 version with the scallop side releases.
Or the (13) round version called the M13.

Had an M8, shot some plates tournies with it. Liked it. But ended up selling it.

Kept my '84 hard chromed PSP!

Buy one.

HK P7M8's are great guns. I had one a long time ago and I had to sell it. So what did I do, after I saved up enough again, I went out and bought a new one! Since then... Well, I now have two... :) Happy shooting...

As one of the newer P7 owners all I can add is the TFL comments were accurate and descriptive. My PSP is one of the nicest new guns I have purchased and I love the whole squeeze cocker thing. I had no problems getting used to it and found that it is one of the easiest guns to get used to.

When I can come across another P7-PSP or P7M8 NIB (when I save up some more cash) I will certainly buy another.
