In one of the online gunstore inventories I watch ( for goodies I really might need) I have noticed a 10 ga Damascus sXs. I know that damscus is a kind of steel, or I guess a process. Can they be shot with lead? Bisthmus? Or are they just mantlepieces?

Thanks.

Either damascus or twist steel barrels that were of adequate strength when new are not now, nearly a hundred years or more later.

There is a high likelyhood of corrosion in the interstitial voids between the strips of metal. Thus weakening the structure.

Like Steve says. Admire it without shooting it.

Recently at a Vintagers shoot, a woman was seriously injured when a Damascus bbl let go. Supposedly, light loads were used.Shotguns and grenades have about the same working pressures. Capiche?...
