Dam* Relatives!!!!!!!(rant)

Anyone reading my posts knows I've been looking for a redhawk in 41 mag to fill the last gap in my collection of stainless rugers.

I told family members to be on the lookout for one, and even offered a finders fee. So while I had to work this weekend, my bro. in law went to the gun show.

Guess what he bought? A 7.5" 41 mag stainless redhawk. He comes over last night, shows me the gun, says "I bought it for you, but after I got it home I was bored. So I gave it a good cleaning. Now I want to keep it."

Oh well, I'll just have to keep looking.(And I think he just got crossed off my Christmas list.)

I'll get over it, but dam*, it's frustrating.

i know where you can get 1.he is an ffl holder.i looked at it the other day, thought(wished) it was 357.at a local shop in bucyrus ohio.its blued not stainless.if you want i can give you the phone number.

Maybe he's just "yanking your chain" until Christmas morning (would be a great surprise). If it doesn't show up in your stocking, maybe trade him another gun for it. Sounds like he's not that picky and a pretty GP-100 or S&W 686, etc might make him let go of it. Worth a shot!

Good luck ...

Do you have the .357?

My uncle in CO is selling a .357 RH - I assume it is SS, but not 100% sure.

PM me anyone who is interested, I can do the hook-up.

Update:

My bro-in-law changed his mind. The 41 is now mine. It's a stainless 7.5 version with integral scope mounts on the barrel rib. It's also in about 98% condition. It doesn't even have a drag ring all the way around the cylinder yet. And it locks up tight as fort knox.

As for the 357: Which one are you asking about, the 5.5" or the 7.5"? I have both in stainless.

And I do have a couple boxes of home rolled 357 that are labeled "redhawk only". :D :D

That's the thing about relatives. They also come up to you when you're broke and tell you about the most tempting deal on the planet and gosh darn if it isn't too!

Ben, for the past five or so months (I usually get there about once a month) I have been seeing a nice, used Ruger Redhawk w/ 7-1/2" barrel in .41 Mag at Jim's Pawn and Gun at 4212 Oleander Drive, in Wilmington NC. It has a cheap scope on it and is missing the rear sight, but other than that it is intact. It has some very light scratching on the stainless barrel (holster scratches??) but I would say the gun is 96-97%. The phone is (910)799-7314, the managers name is Nick. The gun was there in July when I bought a used .41 NM Blackhawk, so maybe they will deal if it is still there today. I believe the price was about $479.00 (but can't completely trust my memory). Good luck, NG Bruce
