Has anybody heard of a company named Dakin? I have a little 20ga side by side, that my father bought 40 years ago, and I've never seen or heard of another one. It is the first shotgun I ever shot, and still one of my favorites. I taught my son to wingshoot with it as well...just curious about the company that made it...

The Blue Book has very little information on this company, I believe it is only an importer. It says about Dakin Gun Co.: "Previous importer located in San Francisco, CA circa 1960s."

Depending on the model, they range anywhere from $200 to $2000 in price range. There were 4 models that were SxS's, 1 that was an O/U.

Dakin was an importer of pretty well regarded Spanish guns in the 1960s. Which Spanish maker I don't know. Might not even have been the same one from model to model or year to year.

Thanks for the information, I've been curious for a long time, but have found very little out there. Not that I'm interested in selling, but I always like to know the background on things...thanks again

All this time I thpught Dakin was a French shotgun maker with a action that had a pull lever over the barrels that slid open to load. Guess my memory was wrong. They were supposed to be fine guns with a "really different" action. Then again,, maybe i am thinking of Darne.. Damn, old age is the pitts

It's a sweet little light side by side. Really one of my favorites still to this day! It has a single trigger, nice lines and does a number on heavy cover quail, dove and clay.
