Daisy 22 Long Rifle

I have a Daisy Semi-auto 22 rimfire rifle. My granddaughter is about old enough to start to shoot. This rifle is short and lite weight. My problem is the magazine is broken.

This is the one with a stick magazine not the rotary one. Where in the world would I find one.

Thanks if anyone can help.

Daisy will be very polite, but can't be very helpful as they no longer have any.

I found one from an individual seller by haunting the internet. I now have a Daisy with two magazines, one broken (actually, just a missing spring which, I'm told can be replaced by any competent gunsmith or by yourself with a little experiementation) and one functional.

I will happily sell or trade the whole shebang for a reasonable offer.

Best,

Will

If you cannot locate an original, here are some ideas.

As was suggested, contact Daisy. It may be that someone there can tell you"Use a Mossberg xyz mag,but you have to file a notch...."

Or,Shotgun News and Gunlist will often have full page ads from magazine dealers.Could be those folks would know of an interchange.

A .22 mag will either be curved like a Rem bolt rifle,or slanted back like a semi-auto pistol. They are pretty much all single stack, the .22 LR cartridge inside is always the same,so some design parameters will be pretty standard.

If you were Daisy getting your toes wet making .22's,would you invest in all the tooling and R+D to make magazines? Or might you call some outfit like MegGar in the magazine business?

Would you invest in a new,one off magazine,or buy a qty of something in their lineup?

Also, sometimes gunshows have tables of odd magazines of all sorts

If you find the rotary,a fellow gave me a Daisy bolt rifle with no mag.

I wonder if I can get a Ruger or Butler creek to work with some mods.
