Daily gun, help needed

I have only three choices, where I live we have only these 3 guns available.

SW 3913 TSW
CS9
CS45

which one would you carry on a daily basis?

I want it to be light and easy to carry.

If size/weight are your goal, then the obvious choice is the CS9, followed by the 3913 then CS45.

Personally, I went thru nearly the same selection process not too long ago - looking at those three models along with a 4513 and 457. I selected the CS45. I didn't mind the extra weight or size.

All three of your choices have the same level of reliability. Only you can make the choice about what size/weight are the best fit for you.

The "CALIBER DEBATES" are a whole other series of long, draining, never-ending threads. Suffice it to say that either choice of a 9x19 or .45ACP is fine.

I'm curious where you live.

paddling_man,

thank you for the information.

I live in Istanbul, Turkey. The law limits the gun trade. In order to buy a gun, pistol, we need permission.
Then we go to a shop run by officials, and buy the gun. There are not many different models. Only a few choices of S&W. There are Sig Sauer, Browning, Beretta but my heart goes for S&W.

I have to carry daily and dont want a heavy gun, one that should be easy to live with.

CS9 hands down. 9MM is plenty potent for msot threats. It's small light weight. I dont get how you can live somewhere they only sell three guns though....

There I go again not reading all the posts. Oops... My bad.

Turkey Huh?... Cool. I lived in Ankahra [sp] for three years.

I carry a 3953 pretty regularly. I would choose the 3913 TSW if it were me, there is just something sleeker about the 39xx series than the CS series IMO.

I lived in Ankara for a year when I was a child. My father is an archeologist and spends every summer in Turkey, but he is not a gun guy, so I never heard anything about Turkish gun laws.

I've only gotten to handle one once at a gun show, but the CS45 struck me as a pretty darn small/light .45acp.

Given the choices, and depending upon ammo price/availability where you live, I'd be looking at the CS45.

While the CS guns are smaller, I am not certain that they are considered to be as reliable as the 3913 series. You could do a Search, but my choice would be the 3913, it is certainly small and slim enough, and it has an excellent reputation for quality and reliability. I am not certain that Smith worked out all the kinks in the CS series, if any.

I collect S&W single stacks, and I would vote for the 3913. Hands down, one of the best 9mm pistols ever made. A number of foklks consider them to be the gold standard for comparison. It is small enough to carry comfortable, very accurate, and great ergos.

It is purely personal, but I think the Chiefs Specials, especially the grip ergos are an acquired taste. They feel kinda bulky and difficult to handle comfortably; at least for me. When you get a chance to handle the various pistols, it may be noticable to you.

Even though things are I'm sure different in Turkey.... I'd go for what ever is going to be the most comfortable to wear... hopefully that will be all that matters.

IME the S&W 3913 TSW. All examples I've witnessed shot exceedingly well.
(I sold mine. I have other choices.)
