and I still haven't gotten him a gift! I have no idea what to get him because hes a very simple guy...He's a carpenter and has virtually EVERY tool a man could want so those are all out of the option! Anyways..when I bought my AR last year he always comments how he wants something similar but without the tacticool look...Looked around and it seems .223 start at around $200 which is sort of out of my range for a birthday gift. I was thinking .22 because he has NO firearms and we live in the middle of no where with plenty of raccoons/varmints and what not coming up and actually getting into the house. I planned on going to some shops today and looking at a decent .22 because you can usually grab those marked pretty low. Well...any ideas what to get him firearm or not?! If I do go the firearm side I think I'll just tell him it's his but I get rights to it when I want ;) Anything under $200ish Ill consider because working 2 jobs/college/19 years old isn't easy haha! Thanks guys :D

I have personnel ex with the Ruger 10-22 and Marlin Model 60. I would recommend both and many people on here would talk of Savage and CZ's. Take a look at all and decide.

New, the 10/22 will run $250 and up...
Might consider the 22/45 handguns as well, same price range, accurate, and a blast to shoot if he might enjoy the handgun route...

New, you're going to be hard pressed to stay under $200.
Hit up your local pawn shops, you should be able to find used in exc condition for what you want to spend.
