I am looking to buy my Dad a traditional cowboy style belt and holster for Christmas. This is not my style of shooting or genre, so I am a little in the dark. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good manufacturer? I bought my Dad a Ruger Vaquero a few years ago in 45 LC and wanted to get him a period belt and holster to match. Any help is appreciated.

Unless you have to surprise him, take him to a place that sells Cowboy Leather, or better yet makes Cowboy Leather Goods, and let him choose.

twobit: you said traditional. Don't get the stuff in the movies. On the Cochise website, the Mexican Loop H1890E and the belt GR1900, with the square buckle with clipped edges. That's very good for a traditional pick.

Cochise has both "movie" stuff and "traditional" stuff. There were no "drop leg/drop loop" traditional holsters. I like the traditional stuff that Cochise offers. They even have some true to form military leather from civil war, cavalry, etc.

gunbelt and weakside holster

It might be nice if someone came up with one just the size of your relation 38 45 49 59

I might have one that could fit for a small price
