I have an Encore barrel I want to get D&T and Hardchromed. I am unsure which order this should be done in. Two different companies doing the work and I asked both and both indicated their part should be done first.

What do you think?

Drill and tap.

Asked the chromer a more detailed question and he said it would be best to D&T first so the finish did not get scratched when working on it.

D&T first.
Hard chrome is hard and can cause problems with drilling if it's done first.
The only issue might be with a slight build up of the plating on the sharp edge of the hole interfering with starting the screws in the holes.

This can be corrected by very lightly countersinking the holes either before or even after plating.

D&T????? Thanks Bud

DT first, chrome, and run the T one more time.

D&T!
