CZ97B - New Grips and holsters

In 2013 CZ stopped using walnut grips on the big .45 ACP CZ97B, and replaced them with checkered aluminum. I ordered a set from CZcustom.com and installed them on my six-year-old 97B. They are a noticeable improvement over the older grips.

I’ve got a video about installing the grips, as well as a selection of my favorite CZ97B holsters.

The second video is a new shooting video featuring the re-gripped CZ97B

The earlier model had problems with hollow point ammo. If you sent it back to CZ-USA they could tune it so it was reliable.

Todays guns seem to shoot hollow point very reliably, and just about every 97 owner raves about the great accuracy.

no problem with hollow points LOVE my 97bd :) I do like the grips that it came with to me they feel good and look good but I been thinking about some wood grips so my gun has some Sunday close to put on lol

Despite the fact that my country borders with the Czech Republic, the CZ97B is quite a rarity :(.
About a week ago I track down a gun shop in which is CZ97B and even I was managed to make a reservation :D
But because of the rarity of of that gun, the problem is with holsters and magazine carriers.
Are you gentelmen doing custom holsters, whether they are imported ?

They [the aluminum grips] are a noticeable improvement over the older [walnut] grips.

Because ... ?

CZ-USA's website has a spreadsheet matching holster manufacturers to each model of CZ. It seems pretty well maintained. I don't think there is any law prohibiting the export of holsters and mag pouches.

Seen your videos on youtube before I actually went ahead and purchased a nice used 97B. The newer one with the aluminum grips. Haven't fired it yet but was hoping to get away today and head out to the range.

My biggest complain with this pistol is that you cannot reach the slide release with your thumb, at least, I can't. I emailed Cajun Gun Works and they said they can customized the one from the SP-01 which is extended to work with the CZ 97B for $50.

I will wait until I put a couple of hundred rounds on her and see if it is a keeper or trade bait for something else. If I end up keeping it, then I will order the elongated slide release.

Nice dude. I have always admired cz97s but never handled of -CENSORED--CENSORED--CENSORED--CENSORED- one. I am a 1911 guy and will stick with it for .45, but I'd love to try a cz75 or SP01 in .40
I had a cz52 years ago made in 1954. Was a nice gun. The trigger and sights were terrible but it was a well made gun

"Keep a spare barrel bushing on hand. I've broken two before CGW converted it to the

This happened on the old CZ97B or the newer version?

I wonder what is going on with the censoring on my previous post. I meant to say "I have never handled or shot one"

Typing from a touch screen phone can be a bit screwy

Keep a spare barrel bushing on hand. I've broken two before CGW converted it to the 1911 style.

On the early models the barrel bushing should be backed off one notch after tightening it down. The CZ manual says it will break if left tight.

A Hogue grip for a CZ 75 will also fit on the 97B but it will need a little stretching to get the screw hole lined up.

Finally I got my long time awaited CZ 97 B, by the way I purchased also rifle CZ 557 Varmint .308 Win
At the first opportunity I will go to the shooting range :D

CZ changed the shape of the feed ramp on the barrel several years ago. The newer ones feed hollow points fine. I have a new 97B with the aluminum grips, and fiber optic sight. Love it.

I have aluminum grips which according to the CZ catalog should fit to CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow and CZ 97 B but match only for Shadow :(
