Been searching around. I remeber years ago about a gunsmith that does excellent work on installing rails on handguns. I havent been able to track him down.
I am in searching of installing or having a smith install a clean cut rail on a CZ97.
I did come across this item though:

I'm looking to be pointed in the right direction. I'm located in So Cal, but if the best is out of state, then shipping it will be.

thank you

Try asking this same question on the CZ Forum http://www.czforumsite.info/

I've had a 97B and they are huge. Extremely accurate, but huge. They don't weigh as much as a Springfield Armory TRP Operator with Bull Barrel. I recall that they won't fit in "the box" for IPSC. But since they are an all steel gun they can have a rail TIG/MIG welded to the grip frame. There is a member at the CZ Forum screen name "Schmeky" who has a 97B Project going on and has done some pretty cool work. The other source you might try is Miossi Gun Works http://www.miossigunworks.com/index.html He does custom work on CZs.

T-Bear,

Although I have not personally added a rail to any CZ, I see no reason why an accessory rail for a 1911 cannot be successfully attached to a 97. Most any decent gunsmith should be able to do this. You'll have to drill and tap the bottom of the dust cover. The good thing is if you decide later you don't like or need it, you can remove it and plug the holes with appropriate flush fitting screws.
