CZ75b sight removal

I want to change the fixed sights on my CZ75b from fixed to adjustable and have purchased a nice set of adjustables. Now the problem is getting the old fixed sights off. Is there a pin or something holding the sights on? I have done a little firm tapping with brass punch and hammer but nothing wants to budge. Any help along these lines would be appreciated.

Yeah... unless you have a transverse dovetail, there's a pin holding the front sight. Go here and look at the appropriate drill bit, replacement pin and pin punch.

Fitting The Front Sight.
Remove the roll pin using the appropriate punch (30302)
Tap the old front sight out (towards the muzzle) using an appropriate soft hammer or soft block

Replace the new front sight into the dovetail and tap it toward the back of the gun until it seats in the rear of the dovetail cut. Make sure it goes all the way to the back of the dovetail.

Using the correct drill. Front Sight Drill (30308)
Drill through the roll pin hole. (IMPORTANT) Drill from the left side of the gun to the right side, Drills cut clockwise and drilling from this direction will not cause the front sight to walk out as the drill starts to cut.
IMPORTANT THE PIN MUST BE REINSTALLED IT ALSO HOLDS THE BUSHING IN THE SLIDE.
NOT INSTALLING WILL CAUSE THE BUSHING TO EVENTUALLY COME OUT OF THE SLIDE.

Replace the front sight pin, new pins are available (10091)

Please look at the Sight Cuts Photo to ascertain your sight cut PHOTO

it is the rear sight that I am trying to replace, not the front sight. It just will not move so far with my efforts.

There may be a set screw in the top of the sight... but nothing else would be preventing you from tapping it out. As viewed from the rear, it is tapped out from left to right, reverse to install new sight.

You going in the right direction?

I do not see a screw in the top of the sight, there may be a tiny something right in front of the rear sight, but is is very very tiny if it is anything at all. I have tapped left to right pretty darn hard, enough to mar the sight even using a brass punch. Maybe some penetrating oil would help. What do you think?

Unless someone else has a good idea... I don't have much else to tell you.

Got a can of "dust remover" for your computer? It's a refrigerant gas (1,1-difluoroethane) that gets very cold. You could try and freeze the sight, in an effort to shrink it so that it taps out easier.

Now... that is really all I got. :p
