CZ75B Lube Question

Just picked up my first semiauto and am very
happly with it. However . . .

The manual on my new CZ75B does not detail
where exactly to lubricate the weapon. I assume
anyplace where there is metal-to-metal contact,
such as the slide rails, exterior of the barrel, etc.

Can anyone provide their insight so I don't miss any
critical areas? Is a high temperature gun grease (which
I use on my M1 Garand)
better to use than oil? Should the springs be
greased as well?

Thanks,

Hi! Good choice on the gun!
I've got a CZ85B that I absolutely love to shoot!
As far as lube goes I like to use grease on the slide(lithium, silicon-based)my favorite is SuperLube, cause it's cheap, requires little amount, and repels dirt.

As far as oil goes I like to oil the action with a spritz of Rem Oil or Gunslick.

I wouldn't worry about the springs too much. Keep the rest of the gun properly lubed and the springs will be fine.

I hate to pick on a man's maintenance products, but here goes :D :

Gunslick--DON'T USE IT. Graphite lubes have been proven to cause damage to metals, due to a chemical reaction. Do a search here or elsewhere, as there's alot to read about this.

Super Lube--this stuff ALWAYS scores very low on ASTM wear tests, compared to even light oils.

Don't grease your springs.

I thin coat of lube on all metal surfaces, with a little more on contact/high wear surfaces will keep your weapon in excellent shape.

I prefer a CLP-type product for various reasons that I've mentioned elsewhere on the forums. Break-Free CLP and Muscle Products FP-10 are two of the best gun care products available, bar none.

If you really prefer a grease, the two best, by far, are Milcomm TW-25B and Tetra G.
