CZ75 worry

So I was being a good boy and cleaning my CZ75 Mil after my range trip last night, when I brushed my hand across the top the striped frame and felt a bump. Uh-oh! I took a closer look and I noticed that right above the square hole for the slide stop there is a little buldge. It looks like maybe 1/2 to 1 mm, almost impossible to see but you can feel it. Incidentaly this is also the thinest spot on the frame. I called Mike at CZ-USA this morning and his position was: "Dont worry about it, if it doesnt interfere with the workings of the gun, leave it alone, and if it gets worse call me back"

Now, everyone says that Mike knows his job so I'm going to follow his advice. Thats doesnt stop me from being worried. Can some of you take a look at you CZ's and see if you are seeing the same problem? Maybe its normal. I have about 3300 rounds through mine, and this might have been there all along, but I just noticed it.

Thanx
Loch

Well, let me take a look at my CZ-75 Mil...

(pulls out pistol, drops mag, clears chamber, presses out slide stop and removes slide...)

Nope, no bump on mine, visible or otherwise. So yours could be a manufacturing defect, or the start of a crack. On the other hand, the top of the slide stop hole doesn't resist any pressure, so if it fails, it shouldn't be catastrophic.

I'd say go with Mike's advice. Wait, shoot, and see.

Loch,
I can see a very slight deformity on mine, but it looks like it was done when they punched the slide release hole. Not a bump per say, just a slight rise above the hole. Is the finish intact around this bump or is it cracked? If it's cracked, I would be worried, but if the finish is not effected, it may have been done at the factory.

Without seeing it, I probably won't be too worried, unless it interfered with the slide.

The finish is fine. So the factory induced bump theory might be correct. I took a close look and indeed it doesnt seem to be a stressed area. Hopefully its just 'natural'. I'll keep an eye on it, though I still feel confident enough about it that it's still loaded in my night stand.

Thanx for checking guys.

Nope, no bumps of any kind. Keep in mind that my gun is very new, less than 300 rounds. Mike really knows about CZ, I would follow his advice. Good luck with yours

Just checked my 75B Mil too. No bump. The production stamping thing sounds plausible though since it`s a very low stress area. FWIW mine also has a few thousand rounds through it. Marcus

I just brought my 75 home today...and here is this post. Well I just checked...no bump. I agree with the others, keep shooting.
Shoot well
