CZ75 vs. EAA Witness?

I've been looking to purchase a new handgun, and am looking at the CZ75 and EAA Witness pistols. They look pretty similar - are they the same design? If so, are the mags interchangeable? One of the benefits of the EAA line seems to be the interchangeability of slides and barrels to different calibers.

I'd also welcome input as to ergonomics, shootability, quality/fit/finish, etc.

The EAA guns are clones of the CZ-75B. The quality of fit and finish is lower in the EAA than the CZ products. I've owned both and the CZs are just plain better.
 
a vote for the witness

I have the Witness in 9mm, the target ported model advertised by CDNN, i have to say i'm very happy with it, it was a christmas present from my wife and other than sighting in the target rear sights it has been perfect.

witness quality control can at times be questionable---you either get a good one or a bad one. There has also been good and bad reports on their customer service.
look at www.czforum.com
they have a clone section that will also cover eaa witness.
 
Witness has made some good guns. I have a great Witness Sport Long Slide in .45. But I also have several CZs.

If all other things are equal, the CZ will generally have a much better trigger, especially double-action.

If you're looking at specific guns, and not buying by long distance, you might find a good Witness. If you're buying through the mails/internet, just get a CZ.
 
I have one of each and I prefer the CZ. Fit, finish,accuracy,trigger pull all go to the CZ. I do like the Witness safety lever a tiny bit better,I prefer the smooth shape of it`s trigger guard and I especially like the nice smooth beavertail grip tang. If I could add those to the CZ it would be near perfection. As for the consistancy of workmanship and reliability the CZ wins again. In fact the only reason I bought the Witness over another CZ is that CZ doesn`t make a 10mm. Marcus
 
Ive shot a couple of witness guns and own CZ's. If you get a good witness they are nice guns but the CZ guns are just better.

For equal money i'll go with the cz,however i've owned 3 witness's,2 45's and a 10mm with zero problems.I paid $239.00(full sized 45,blued),$249.00(compact 45,wonderfinish) and $279.00(compact 10mm,wonderfinish).All were used but in top notch shape,i was looking for a 9mm and found a cz75b for $300.00,which i bought instead of another witness for the same price,both used.
