CZ75 (pre-B) firing pin removal

The owners manual only mentions that one needs to depress the FP just below the FP Stop (the plate) and then easing the FP Stop off while ensuring that the FP does not fly out. It does not, however, talks about the removal of the FP Roll Pin first. Isn't this also required?

Hello. Only the "B" models have the roll pin. The "Pre-B" guns are just like the older 1911s and P35s in the removal of their firing pins.

Best.

Stephen is correct, of course. I remove and clean the firing pin + hole every time I clean my CZ-75 (not 'B'). There is no roll pin to remove on the pre 'B' versions.

OT But Important

If you plan to remove the frame mounted safety lever be very careful with the safety detente and the safety detente plunger spring. They're very small pieces that can ge lost easily. They're no longer made so if you lose or damage them you're out of luck. :( When you get a chance order a set of springs and an extra firing pin. CZUSA is back ordered so it'll take a few weeks to get them. Better to have them and not need them then to need them and have to wait weeks to get them. ;)

I stand corrected. Thanks.
For those that have the 75B, I presume you have to remove the FP Roll Pin and then the FP Stop as the firing pin block is depressed to "free" the FP?

Tecolote, that little spring and plate that sits between the frame and safety are a PITA to get in properly, aren't they? I've done it 3 or 4 times now and it's still not easy.

Tecolote and Destructo6 are absolutely correct. When I take the thumb safety off of the gun, I first put the entire gun in a large zip lock plastic bag. That way if the spring sprongs while I'm removing the safety, it simply ends up in the bag as opposed to across the room.

Frank

Devil's Plaything

The safety detente and the safety plunger spring are satan's playthings. You're supposed to insert a paper clip into the hole on the safey lever, sometimes the clip actually holds the pieces in place, but more often then not they come out flying. Great idea on using a large plastic bag. I'll have to keep one handy.
