Has anyone seen or perhaps own a new model
cz75 pcr compact.?? Have read but not held
one. Would like some feed back as to quality,
etc.

I've held and examined one. I like it. It is very similar to the CZ75 Compact, only lighter with a couple of minor differences (a more streamlined rear sight, serrations on the front of the slide, and a decocker rather than a regular safety). Of course, its main appeal is the aluminum alloy frame that makes it a little lighter than the standard models.

A friend of mine bought one last week for $399.95 at my recommendation (he doesn't know much about guns). We had both ordered some CZ high-cap magazines before they were banned here in California. I'd probably have bought one too, but I'm already waiting for the 30-days to pass so I can complete the purchase of another handgun (and my wife's going to flip if I don't slow down a little!). I'll get one eventually.

The standard CZ75 high-cap magzines are supposed to fit, but will stick out the bottom a little. High-caps for the compacts (which should fit perfectly) cost a little more. I paid about $50 from CDNN (I got two, but exchanged one when it obviously wasn't new or original CZ - be specific and request the curved floorplate). I plan to carry a compact high-cap in the gun, and two standard mags for reloading.

Finally, the gun is only available in the black polymer finish (I checked with CZ). I also wish it had the regular CZ75 safety, and a screw-adjustable rear sight. Also be aware that it still feels a little heavy compared with the new plastic framed guns. It feels good in the hand and should shoot comfortably, but may still be a little heavy to carry around.

Doug,

Did CDNN replace the wrong mag with a correct one? I had a similar expereince, ordered CZ factory and got some other mags. At the time they were out of original CZs.

I bought couple of these last month. Took them out to the range yesterday.

Functioned great, quite accurate. The 13 round magazines for the compact fit flush. I think the 15 rounders for the full size hang out a bit.

I like the loaded chamber indicator which is a little pin that protrudes from the top of the slide when you load it.

Tecolote,
Yes, CDNN was very accomodating about exchanging the magazine. I don't know if you remember, but we traded some e-mails on this subject last year and you told me about this source of CZ hi-cap magazines and to try to get the curved floorplate models (thanks!). I ordered two, and one looked great - brand new, curved floorplate, just what I wanted. The other looked used, was obviously different (flat floorplate, different holes, light blue plastic follower). I sent it back and they sent me another nice one. No re-stocking fee or anything - but I did pay shipping for both. At that point, and being in California where they were about to be banned - I was happy to get them and satisfied with the service from CDNN.

Doug,

Yeah I remember. I'm glad things worked out. I'm amazed CDNN has those factory mags, they're so hard to get. I sold a Compact because they were my last hope. They sent me the wrong mags an when I called they told me they didn't have any with curved base plates. Rats! I should've waited a while longer.
