CZ75 mags in Witness

will CZ75 9mm mags work in an EAA Witness 9mm ? I've tried searching and reading post but my eyes are about to fall out!!

This is gonna sound wierd..but I dont know. I do know witness mags work in a cz75..but have heard some contradicting info on the cz in eaa. Theoretically, if one works in the other why not the other way around. Give it a whirl, why not? You can get witness mags cheap thru CDNN.....shoot well

Well, I guess I would have to say "I think so." I have a Tangfoglio (same thing as Witness?) in 9mm and I picked up a 20 rd mag that was labled as for a CZ75. The mag works fine in the Tangfoglio so without having a real Witness to be sure I have to say "I think so."

EXPERIENCE

Have two Witness 9 frames, one 'early' one 'late'. Got probably half-dozen or so CZ mags and ALL work in both guns.

Thanks weshoot2, I just picked up a witness at the gun show yesterday and none of the vendors knew for sure, took my witness to the range today and boy did I make a big mistake this darn thing has me wanting a tricked out CZ85 and a compact 75 even worse now!!!! My only complaint is sharp edges on the safety, but thats why they make files and re-blue!!

FILE 101

Have at it! Plenty of options, including top ends in 9x21 (with/without comps), 40 S&W, barrel for 41AE, sights, grips, etc.

Bob Cogan (www.apwcogan.com) can tune the snot out of your Witness and plate it too!

Suggestion: VERY hard metal, try stoning, emery cloth, or (gently!) Dremel tool for dehorning.

Question. You say you can get a top end for a Witness in 9mm that'll make it a .40. Okay, I'm assuming it uses the same magazines, and that .40 cartridges will fit in a 9mm magazine (so I've heard).

How many .40 cartridges can you fit into a 15 round 9mm magazine. I'm guessing 12. (Seeing as how the Sig P226 9mm holds 15 and the Sig P226 .40 holds 12).

weshoot I have another question or two, I think I have an early model because it dosen't have a very big beaver tail, do you know what finish they used on these? It's a very flat black and I cant tell but it realy almost looks like blued, ald where can you get the top ends and sights?

NEWR VERSION HAVE ROUND TRIGGER GUARD

Parts available through EAA and Brownells (www.brownells.com).

I have both the EAA Supersight and a Mec-Gar adj; prefer Mec-Gar (but had to enlarge notch).

Some thoughts: if buying top end recommend Long-Slide versions, BreakFree CLP and TetraGrease, factory mags, Wolff springs in mags and recoil, factory rubber or wood grip panels, rounded trigger, narrowing front sight blade to .100" (will require machining), and spare slide stop (have NEVER broken ANY parts, but heard many stories about slide stop LOL).

Oh, and they need very little cleaning, although mine rust. My fault, of course, but it should be mentioned LOL.

FYI, have two 'small' frames and one 'large', small capable of switching to 9x21, 40 S&W, 41AE. My large came as 45 but I added top in 38 Super. These three give me test beds in listed calibers, plus similar manual of arms for ease of carry or competition. They also fit the same holsters.......
