I've seen these advertised on the net but have not heard from anyone who has bought and used one. Are they as good a deal as they sound?

( I know, the 32 Winchester Special is about the only 32 you can have some reasonable confidence in, but the 32 ACP/7.65mm is a step up from the 22 l.r.! )

.

I have a CZ-50, the version before the CZ-70. Fine little gun, sits nicely in hand, natural pointer. A bit heavy for pocket carry but built solid.

I think Aim Surplus (www.aimsurplus.com) has these for around $60. Of course, that's dealer cost, so maybe $100 isn't too bad. I don't have any experience with these, but I've read some good comments about them.

cz70 pistols

Rusty, I bought two of them from AIM for whatever they seel them for ($79?). They cam with one magazine each. Very good condition. Barrels looked brand new. These are fun guns to shoot -- heavy trigger, especially in double action. But I find them a great way to train yourself. The front sights need help. They are small and rounded, so you need to pint them.

If you spens $100 more, AIM is selling wonderful CZ83 pistols in .380 cal. These are the next model made by CZ after the 70. lots of improvements, excellent guns. Come with one 13-round magazine. Sights are great, trigger is the best I've seen.

The difference in felt recoil between a .32 cz70 and a .380 cz83 is nil, but the .380 has a louder boom.

Here's a link to photos of my CZ50 & 70:

I've searched CZ70 either here or over at makarov.com and I remember coming across quite a few posts from people complaining that their CZ70 was unreliable. Jamm-o-matic.

I have the similar CZ-50. (Most of the parts are interchangeable. THe big difference has to do with a modification to cause the slide to stay open after the last round.)

The guns aren't jamomatics, but they are magazine sensitive -- and a lot of the magazines are junk.

There are some fixes for the bad magazines, but the easiest one is to buy a new one -- and CDNN had them, recently, for under $20 each.

Mine is very accurate, and the trigger (in SA mode) is quite good.

(It'll outshoot a friend's Walther PPK...)

I bought one from AimSurplus for 79.00, it's in great condition. As was said before the double action trigger pull is way to heavy, but in single action it's ok. The gun is well built from milled steel, and is of fine quality.

Jason, is the top and upper sides of the gun parkerized? I'm trying to figure out what that term means, and wondered if these guns are examples of the finish. Nice photo.

Also, I have found that painting the rear sights green and the front sight orange helps my cz70 accuracy a lot.

The whole gun is blued. I had opted to pay Aim the extra 20.00 for one with better finish. I know this is a cheap little gun, but I am suprised quality.

Parkerizing (gray, black, gray/green): Originally developed by the Parker Company for the military, parkerizing is a process where properly prepared parts are submerged in a warm phosphate solution for a period of time ranging from five to twenty-five minutes. Parkerizing will etch the surface of the metal and produce a coarse build-up. Bore and chamber are protected and not parkerized. Only carbon steel and cast iron can be parkerized.

This gun has been parkerized

I wish the photo was bigger, I swiped it from Springfield Armory's web sight.:D

I had to look back at the photo, I think it's just the way the light hit the gun. I had it set right under my desk lamp. The whole gun is blued; the only thing that is not the same color is the top strap, which has been made dull so as not to reflect light.:)

Your gun looks like mine; I do not believe yours has had anything done to it. You can see on the flat part of the slide that it is much smoother than the rest of the slide; I think that’s because of guns information being put there. Your pictures show up better than mine so you can get better detail on that. I don’t have a hand held digital camera, only a net cam so I can’t get very good pictures. I think our guns could be twins.
:D

I believe Southern Ohio Gun has them, but they will only sell to a FFL. They won't even give a price unless you are FFL.

I believe I recently saw an SOG catalog at a local gunshop that contained an ad for CZ70s (in very good condition) for $79.00 and includes an "extra mag". That could be the dealer's cost and does not include shipping + taxes (if applicable) + transfer fees.
